On Aug. 29, 332 plaintiffs and Michigan State University submitted signed, final versions of the Larry Nassar settlement to Judge Quist in the Federal District Court for the Western District.
A finalized settlement is a goal I’ve been working toward since I became interim president. I believe this was an important step for both the survivors of Larry Nassar and also the university. The bonding process has begun so the funds can be available for the court appointed allocator within the required time period.
Moving forward, work continues each day to build a stronger campus community that respects all who work or visit here. The lessons learned over the past two years and the courage shown by many will not be overlooked or forgotten. The entire community is working together, committed to making improvements and needed changes.
