Bob Groves informed MSU Interim President Engler yesterday of his decision to resign, effective November 2, from his position as vice president for university advancement. Bob has been with MSU since January 2009 and played a central role in strengthening the advancement program, specifically improving relationships with alumni and increasing philanthropic support to the institution. He also played a central role in the successful Empower Extraordinary campaign, which wraps up this fall.
Prior to joining MSU, Groves was associate vice president and campaign director for University Development at the University of Michigan and vice president for development at the Minnesota Medical Foundation at the University of Minnesota.
Bob is staying on through November to help with transitions. A replacement for him will be named at a later date.
