On April 16, Scott Westerman, associate vice president for alumni relations and executive director of the MSU Alumni Association, notified MSU leadership of his resignation effective July 31. In this resignation letter Westerman indicated he will be moving to Florida to be closer to his family.

Prior to his appointment at MSU in January 2010, Westerman spent more than 25 years in the cable television industry. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in telecommunication from MSU in 1978.

Bob Thomas will serve as interim director of the MSU Alumni Association while a search for a new executive director is conducted.
