The extraordinary lives and legacy of former Michigan State University President Clifton R. Wharton and first lady Dolores D. Wharton were recently celebrated with an unforgettable afternoon of music and memories at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts on MSU’s campus.
On Friday, Sept. 12, Michigan State University celebrated the renovation of Campbell Hall with a ribbon cutting. The $37.1 million renovation has modernized the historic 1939 building with essential safety, accessibility and efficiency upgrades.
MSU has earned several high rankings for 2025 from Washington Monthly. Affirming its placement as a leading global research university, MSU ranks No. 45 overall, No. 26 among public institutions, and No. 13 among the Big Ten as one of the “Best Colleges for Research” in the publication’s newly configured rankings that began this year.
